I think there is two reasons for that. One is that forums have sort of run their course. Just like people are sick of Fakebook.
The other reason is really odd. I notice forums call themselves "community." As if they are some kind of small town or workplace with this weirdo bonding. They even act protective of their "community." It's almost perverse.
